I discovered my love for print and layout design early in my career at a marketing agency, where I began working with Monadnock Paper Mills, a maker of premium printing papers (and I still work with them today, 18 years later). This experience has given me the incredible opportunity to learn the nuances of designing for print, experiment with different printing techniques, create interactive experiences through clever design, and inspire other designers with the possibilities of the magic that can happen with great print design.

Below is a curated selection of work relevant to the Director of Editorial Design position, including “A Field Guide”, Annual Reports, CSR Reports, and Newsletters.

Project: 2022 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Client: Monadnock Paper Mills

A 20-page, 6x9” saddle-stitch booklet with two gate-fold panel spreads.

This is one of the foldout panel spreads. The “Community” panel opens to the left.

Project: 2020 Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Client: Monadnock Paper Mills

A 32-page, 9x6” perfect-bound book with a diecut clipcase, a double-pate fold panel spread, two diecut fold-down panel spreads. I also shot much of the photography for this project.

Behind-the-Scenes Look into the Design Process

This is the double gate fold spread - the table of contents pages open left and right to reveal a 4-panel spread of the letter from the Chairman and CEO.

This is the diecut, fold-down panel spread. The two tree photos fold down to reveal environmental certification information and supporting data.

Project: A Field Guide: Eco-Friendly, Efficient and Effective Print, 4th Edition

Client: Monadnock Paper Mills

A 40-page, 6x9” saddle-stitched book with a sculpted emboss on the bug on the the cover. Designed with minimal ink coverage and without bleeds to maximize the sheet usage, therefore reducing waste.
